Founding Story
Founded in 2019 by Michael Grinich based on his experience at Nylas, where he struggled to build the infrastructure needed to sell to large enterprises. He recognized that becoming 'Enterprise Ready' is critical for post-PMF companies to grow revenue and become self-sustaining. WorkOS was created to be the 'Stripe for enterprise-ready features,' providing developers with modern APIs to quickly add enterprise features instead of spending months building them in-house.
