Claude.ai outage – live status for December 2, 2025

As of December 2, 2025 (morning PT), Anthropic is reporting an active incident affecting the claude.ai web app. Anthropic status (official)

According to the Claude status page:

• There is an open incident titled “claude.ai unavailable” with status Investigating, created Dec 2, 2025 – 16:34 UTC (~8:34am PT). (Claude Status)

  • claude.ai: Degraded Performance
  • Claude API (api.anthropic.com): Operational
  • platform.claude.com (console): Operational

Earlier today, there was also a separate incident for increased latency that has already been marked Resolved. (Claude Status)

So right now this looks like a web app / login issue, not a full API outage. What users are seeing (Reddit reports)

From today’s status mega-thread on r/ClaudeAI, users are reporting: (Reddit)

• Being signed out mid-session and then unable to log back in.
• Email sign-in links failing (“problem sending an email login link”).
• Claude desktop + claude.ai web both not connecting, while Claude Code sometimes still works.

• Very slow responses right before the outage (20+ minute delays) followed by forced logout.

Based on the status page + reports:

• API usage

  • The Claude API is still listed as Operational, so server-to-server workloads may still be fine. (Claude Status)
  • If you already have valid API keys and infra in place, you might be able to keep most pipelines running even if you can’t reach the web UI.

• Web / desktop usage

  • Expect login failures, email magic link issues, and Google SSO problems.
  • Assume anything typed into claude.ai right now could be lost—copy longer prompts somewhere local before sending.

• Fallbacks

  • If this is blocking your day, spin up a backup model (local or hosted) for lightweight tasks until the incident clears.
