Background Agents

Background Agents is an open-source, self-hostable framework that lets entire teams—not just engineers—ship code through autonomous background coding agents. From a simple description, the agent handles coding, testing, and PR creation, so PMs, designers, and engineers can all contribute without local environment setup. Sessions run asynchronously, meaning you can kick off a task at midnight and review the finished PR over breakfast. Built on Cloudflare Workers, Modal-powered sandboxes, and a Next.js web client, it integrates with GitHub, Slack, VS Code, and more.
