About Shared Sessions for Claude Code
Shared Sessions (claude-share) is an open-source Claude Code plugin from Paradigm Study that turns a Claude Code session into a multiplayer room. A host shares a link, teammates join from their own Claude Code, and everyone sees prompts, streamed replies and tool results while the host's machine runs the work. It works in Claude Desktop and the terminal and requires Claude Code 2.1.286 or later.
What It Is
Claude-share is a collaboration layer for Claude Code. The host presses Share above the prompt or types /share-session to get a link. A teammate pastes the link into a fresh Claude Code session, and guest prompts run on the host in turn; the guest's own model is not called. The host ends the room with /stop-sharing.
How Sharing and Control Work
By default, guest requests to edit files, run commands or use the network ask the host for approval, and reads inside the host's project run without asking. A watch-only mode is available. The /room command shows people, a timeline of turns, files Claude changed, side chat and host controls, and guests can react to replies and @mention teammates. Hosts can share local dev servers with /share-preview so guests can open them from the Room.
Teams and Self-Hosting
Sharing by link needs no separate account. Optional teams add sign-in with GitHub or Google, live session lists and invitations inside Claude Code. A public room server run by the project is the default, and teams can run the same server on a Cloudflare Worker or Node using the setup script.
Privacy and Limits
The project states that content is encrypted in transit but not end to end, so the relay server can read shared content. Rooms and files are deleted 24 hours after the host stops sharing or was last seen. Rooms hold up to 20 people and 100 MB of files. Guests see the first 40 lines of each tool result, and subagents' inner steps are not mirrored. Some viewers are Desktop-only.
