About Jev Pages
Jev Pages is an open-source app from GitHub user sagapranav that turns a few lines of product notes into a designed landing page as you write. It runs locally with Python and a Jev API key, and falls back to a simple offline preview without one.
What It Is
Jev Pages is a landing page generator built around constrained choices. According to the README, Jev never writes text; it only picks between fixed options, and code then builds the page from those picks. The app is a single HTML file with data files for photos, looks, colours and example pages.
How Jev designs a page
Every question is a pick from fixed options or a yes/no, asked in order:
- Read the notes: classify each line as a headline, point or fact, and identify the name, the offer, the page's purpose, what to photograph, any product colour, and which facts to set large.
- Design the page: choose the headline and subheadline, look, opening background, light, depth, type, motion, colour rhythm, opening composition, point layout, image band, ending and photos.
- Finish: choose which word of the headline gets emphasis.
Clicking any choice makes Jev re-answer step 2 around it, in about 0.2 seconds per the README.
Setup path
Run serve.py with Python 3, which opens a local server at port 8787. Nothing else needs installing. You paste your Jev key into the app; it stays in the browser and is passed to the Jev API through the local server. On a Mac, a .command file allows double-click launch. The photo library, looks and product colours are editable data files, and a photo can be added with one line.
