About Redde
Redde is an Apple-platform client from Goosehouse LLC for talking to your own AI agent. It connects to a self-hosted Hermes agent or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint and runs on iPhone, iPad, CarPlay and Apple Watch. The developer states it needs no account and collects no data.
What It Is
Redde is a mobile front end for a backend you run yourself. It does not include a model or a hosted service, so you need a Hermes agent or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, either self-hosted or from a provider. Hermes is an open-source project by Nous Research; Redde is an independent client and is not affiliated with Nous Research.
Talking and Watching the Agent Work
You can speak or type in the same conversation. Speech recognition runs on-device, and replies use the built-in voice or your own Kokoro server. Reasoning and tool calls stream as they happen, and risky commands can be approved or denied from a notification. Subagents get their own rows, and a Live Activity shows progress on the Lock Screen. Replies render Markdown, highlighted code, tables, task lists, Mermaid diagrams, math, images and PDFs.
Managing a Hermes Agent
For Hermes, Redde works as a control surface. It covers sessions, projects, a live Kanban board, cron jobs, skills and tool sets, memory and context files, model switching, token usage, and MCP servers and logs. An optional setting lets the agent use your calendar, reminders, contacts, photos and alarms. Widgets, Siri, Shortcuts, the Action Button and the share sheet provide quick access.
Connection and Privacy
It connects to a Hermes gateway over a LAN, a tailnet or Cloudflare Access, or talks directly to llama.cpp, llama-swap, vLLM, Ollama or hosted providers. Credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, with an optional Face ID lock. The developer says all requests go only to the server you configure.
Coming in 1.9
The site previews search inside messages, an SSH terminal, project folders, separate conversations for cron runs, and background work that continues while you leave a chat.
