About SpriteFuse
SpriteFuse is an AI sprite generator aimed at indie developers and small 2D game teams. Users describe a character and the action they need, preview the animation, adjust it in plain language, and export transparent animation files. The site also lists an API, an MCP integration and a developer portal.
What It Is
SpriteFuse generates 2D character animations from a text description, optionally with a PNG, JPEG or WebP reference image. The input is open-ended rather than a fixed preset list, so a user can ask for a specific dodge, spell cast, hurt reaction or wave. Frame count and timing are planned from the requested action, so users do not need to choose frame count, FPS or sheet layout.
How the Workflow Runs
The workflow has three steps: describe the character and action, preview and adjust, then export. During preview, users can play the animation, inspect frames, adjust timing and request visual changes with a single plain-language instruction that builds on the previous completed result. A character can be kept as reference context so later animations stay consistent in colors, proportions, outfit and equipment.
What You Export
A completed export contains a transparent sprite sheet, individual transparent frame PNGs, a GIF preview, animation metadata (frame order, timing, canvas, baseline and pivot) and a README with Godot and Unity setup guidance. Frames can be edited manually in Aseprite, though no native .aseprite file is included. The site states that generated assets are intended for prototyping, inspection and continued editing, and that final polish depends on the game's art direction.
Related Tools
Beyond animation, the site lists a sprite character generator, sprite sheet generator, tileset maker, sprite sheet cutter, sprite packer, GIF to sprite sheet, normal map generator, and pixel art grid and craft pattern generators.
