About Vantage
Vantage is a FinOps platform from VNTG, Inc. that describes itself as the system of record for allocating and optimizing cloud, SaaS, and AI costs. It connects to cloud providers, AI providers, SaaS tools, and data infrastructure to report on spend and surface savings. The company was founded in 2020 by Ben Schaechter and Brooke McKim and is headquartered in New York City.
What It Is
Vantage is a cost management and FinOps tool for engineering, finance, and management teams. It ingests cost and usage data from integrations such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Cloudflare, OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor, Datadog, Kubernetes, Snowflake, and Databricks. From that data it produces cost reports, budgets, unit costs, virtual tags for allocation, network flow reports, and asset inventory.
Optimization and Cost Control
The homepage lists automated waste detection and cost recommendations, Kubernetes rightsizing, and cross-provider recommendations. Autopilot handles the buying of AWS Savings Plans. To prevent overruns, it offers anomaly detection, custom cost alerts, and budget alerts. Alerts and workflows can reach teams through Slack, Jira, Microsoft Teams, or email.
AI and Developer Workflows
Vantage offers hosted and local MCP Server support, so users can query their cost data through ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor. It also provides LLM token cost allocation, a FinOps Agent, and the newly announced Token Cost Allocation Specification. A Kubernetes agent breaks down compute by namespace and label to identify pod waste and idle cluster costs. Every Vantage resource can be managed through a Terraform provider, and data exports and an API are available.
