About viberuler
viberuler is an open-source TypeScript CLI that scans a developer's machine and computes a VIBE SCORE from AI coding-agent usage and git activity. It reads Claude Code and Codex session logs plus local git history, then prints a scorecard with tokens burned, tokens per dollar, lines of code shipped, projects, streaks, achievements and a meme rank. The default run makes no network calls, and an optional submit step can publish a certificate to a global leaderboard.
What It Is
viberuler is a benchmarking and auditing tool for people who code with AI agents. Run with npx viberuler, it scans local git repositories and agent session logs and reports signals such as tokens burned, tokens per dollar (tokens divided by spend using a bundled price table), lines of code you authored with generated output excluded, machine-generated line share, commit streak and cadence, and which coding agents are present. Scores are placed on a rank ladder from Prompt Peasant to Singularity Adjacent, and achievements such as Token Billionaire or Cache Whisperer are awarded for thresholds.
Rig Audit
npx viberuler audit analyzes Claude Code transcripts locally to evaluate how efficiently the rig is set up. It reports:
- Cache-hit rate and API-equivalent dollars saved by prompt caching
- Context amplification on the main thread
- Subagent compression
- Cold context size at session start
- Ghost tokens from output-rewriting plugins
- Top tools by calls and tokens
- Dead-weight MCP servers and plugins that are never called
It also lists context-waste classes such as oversized results and whole-file reads that were never edited. It deliberately avoids claiming a percentage of savings. --compare A..B places two time windows side by side, and --market reprices your token mix at current model rates from the OpenRouter public catalog as an opt-in network call.
Sharing, Leaderboard and Privacy
--submit logs in with GitHub device flow and publishes a Certificate of Vibe Measurement at viberuler.dev. The CLI prints the exact JSON payload, which contains aggregates only, and asks for confirmation before sending. --share prints a self-reported, unverified card URL without sending anything. wrapped --month produces a local monthly recap. Statusline snippets are provided for Claude Code, Starship, oh-my-posh and tmux.
Agent Coverage
The README lists collectors for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor (an estimated input-side lower bound), Gemini CLI, and Cline, Roo Code and KiloCode. Additional agent homes can be added with --agent-home. Windsurf and Aider collectors are listed as open roadmap items. The backend is a Cloudflare Worker with D1, and the project is MIT licensed.
