About Agents
Agents is an open-source, MIT-licensed collection of plugins, agents, skills, and commands for AI coding tools, maintained by Seth Hobson. It shares one Markdown source across several coding harnesses, with installation and capabilities adapted to each. The README lists 94 plugins, including 92 local plugins and 2 external entries, with 202 agents, 184 skills, and 105 commands in the local source.
What It Is
Agents is a plugin marketplace for AI coding tools. A plugin groups related agents (specialist subagent instructions), skills (guidance loaded when relevant), and commands (named workflows such as project scaffolding or a security scan). Plugins cover Python and JavaScript development, code review, testing, infrastructure, and security.
Multi-harness support
The same components work across Claude Code, OpenAI Codex CLI, Cursor, OpenCode, Antigravity CLI, GitHub Copilot, and Pi. Claude Code and Cursor use plugin marketplaces, Codex CLI has a native marketplace route, and OpenCode, Antigravity CLI, GitHub Copilot, and Pi are installed from a clone with make targets. Adapters generate the formats each harness needs, and model aliases, tool permissions, and available components vary by harness. Individual skills can be installed with gh skill or npx skills without the surrounding plugin.
Setup path
In Claude Code, users register the marketplace with /plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents and install a plugin such as python-development. In Codex CLI, codex plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents registers it. Cloned installs require uv, Python 3.12 or later, and the target coding tool.
Quality evaluation
The repository validates plugin structure, generated artifacts, and documentation through make targets. A plugin-eval plugin offers static skill checks without model calls, plus experimental LLM judge and Monte Carlo layers that the README says are not validated against human labels.
