About Yodu AI Employees MCP
Yodu is a managed AI employee platform built by Shashank Agarwal, founder of API.market and Noveum.ai and formerly on the AWS SageMaker launch team. It lets teams assign recurring work—support investigation, sales research, SEO analysis—to named AI employees that operate inside a shared company workspace, using the tools the business already runs. Access is currently limited to 10 selected companies, each onboarded with a personal setup call from the founder.
What It Is
Yodu provides a company workspace where up to five AI employees, including a Chief of Staff, can be configured with specific roles, tool access, and autonomy levels. Each employee can research, draft, delegate, and report back on assigned tasks. The platform sits on top of OpenClaw for agent runtime, wrapping it with employee management, tool permissions, approval workflows, and managed infrastructure. Each workspace runtime runs in a separate Docker container on shared infrastructure, according to the site.
Developer Platform: REST API and Platform MCP
Yodu exposes a public REST API at app.yodu.ai/api/* and a Platform MCP endpoint at app.yodu.ai/api/mcp. Developers and compatible AI clients (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor) can connect through MCP to:
- Read the workspace — inspect identity, employees, memory, tasks, runtime health, and configured secret metadata (24 tools)
- Create tasks and update memory — add assigned work to the task board and manage durable memory (6 tools)
- Configure employees — recruit, provision, set autonomy, models, skills, and tool access (22 tools)
- Configure credentials — register custom MCP servers and store provider or workspace secrets write-only (7 tools)
An interactive API reference and downloadable OpenAPI specification are available at app.yodu.ai/api/docs.
Access Control and Permissions
API keys carry three fixed scopes: workspace:read, workspace:write, and secrets:write. Every request re-checks the verified workspace, current membership, and manager role. Secret values are write-only and never returned. Billing, admin, member management, deletion, and container lifecycle operations are not exposed through the public surface. Workspace repair requires owner or admin role and starts with a safety backup.
Integrations and Tool Connections
Yodu connects to a range of business tools that employees can use during task execution:
- Communication & productivity: Gmail, Slack, Notion, Google Calendar
- Developer tools: GitHub, Custom MCP servers
- Commerce & payments: Stripe, Shopify
- Marketing & CRM: HubSpot, Mailchimp, Resend
- Analytics: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, PostHog, Airtable
- Support: Zendesk
Employees can also be powered by a user's existing Claude subscription, with Yodu adding no extra token charges for subscription-routed work.
Autonomy and Approval Model
Each employee can be configured with one of three action modes: Draft only (prepares output for human review), Ask first (requests approval before external actions), or a defined autonomy level. The platform's task board, conversation threads, file attachments, and approval queue are all visible in one workspace. The site describes this as a human-in-the-loop design where the operator reviews results and unblocks tasks before recurring schedules continue.
Current Status
Yodu is live and accepting applications for its founding cohort of 10 companies. The developer page references a screenshot dated July 2026, indicating active product development. The MCP settings screenshot shows configuration snippets for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and Cursor, signaling current compatibility with major AI client environments.
