About Agent Standup
Agent Standup is an unofficial, MIT-licensed community tool by Atoll92 that visualizes Claude Code sessions as a live team meeting. It reads the session files Claude Code already writes locally, so it works wherever Claude Code runs, and by default it makes no calls to Claude. It is available as a VS Code extension, an npx terminal command and a desktop app.
What It Is
Agent Standup is a session visualizer for Claude Code. The lead agent gives orders, sub-agents join the call when given a task, share their screen with real commands, output and diffs, and leave after reporting. Each agent shows one status: working, waiting on another agent, needs you, stalled, or done. A Sessions board lists every session active across your projects.
What You See
- Terminal and editor views with real command output, file contents and applied diffs, plus screenshots when a tool returns an image.
- A tree of who asked whom, an agents list sorted by urgency, and per-agent token counters.
- A context gauge with a warning before auto-compaction, and badges for slow commands, quiet agents and possible loops.
- Replay of past sessions with highlights (first error, longest wait, compactions, loops), a recap that can be copied as a Markdown standup report, and MP4/WebM video export or a 25-second clip, with an option to mask code and file names.
Voices and Personality
Agents speak with lip-synced voices in several styles: cartoon, Animal Crossing, Simlish, system voices, or Kokoro-82M, an optional local speech model installed on demand. Optional office ambience and FIP radio are available. Agents banter with each other based on what actually happened, and you can replace the drawn characters with your own pixel-art PNGs. The interface is available in nine languages.
Where It Runs
The VS Code extension installs from the Marketplace, and the same .vsix works in Cursor, Windsurf and VSCodium. Any terminal can run npx @double_geste/agent-standup --open (Node 18+). A macOS desktop app adds a menu bar indicator, while Windows and Linux builds are marked experimental. A Claude Code status line and tmux integration are included, and JetBrains IDEs can use an External Tool setup. Other agent tools such as Codex CLI and Gemini CLI are on the roadmap but have no adapter yet.
Privacy Model
The local server listens on 127.0.0.1 only and rejects non-local requests. Network use is optional: French translation and jokes go through your own Claude login, the FIP radio stream connects to Radio France, and an opt-in usage counter is available.
