About Agentic Awesome Skills
Agentic Awesome Skills (AAS) is an MIT-licensed, community-curated library of over 2,600 installable SKILL.md playbooks for AI coding agents. Maintained by @sickn33 on GitHub, it ships a local CLI, a local MCP server, a hosted catalog browser, and a browser-local Workbench for reviewing agent-selected stacks before anything touches a project.
What It Is
AAS is an open skill catalog and agent-first control plane for AI coding workflows. Each skill is a structured SKILL.md playbook covering a specific development task—ranging from brainstorming and systematic debugging to browser automation, security audits, and RAG pipeline architecture. The catalog is organized into 100+ categories and is searchable by outcome, risk level, source, and category. AAS Core, the primary surface, lets an agent search the full local catalog, record the exact skills it selects, validate the resulting stack manifest, and preview an immutable plan before any changes are applied to the target project.
How AAS Core Works
The agent-first workflow follows four read-only-first steps:
- Search — The agent queries the full catalog through a local MCP server or the hosted Core UI. Every skill ships with evidence, risk metadata, and source attribution.
- Choose — The agent selects exact skill IDs and writes a reviewable
aas-stack.jsonwith its project profile. Core does not rank or recommend candidates. - Validate — The CLI checks the stack against the schema and catalog. Nothing is written to the project yet.
- Preview — An immutable plan shows exactly what would land where. Apply only when the user agrees.
Apply and recovery remain experimental and require explicit opt-in. The Workbench surface reviews stack and plan artifacts in browser memory without accessing the filesystem.
Agent Compatibility and Installation
AAS installs via a single npx command and supports a broad set of AI coding tools through per-tool flags or path targeting:
- Claude Code — local MCP preview or direct install
- Codex CLI — local MCP preview or
--codexflag - Cursor —
--cursorflag - Gemini CLI —
--geminiflag - Kiro —
--kiroflag - GitHub Copilot —
gh skill installpreview path - OpenCode, Antigravity, Autohand Code, AdaL CLI — path-based install
- Any tool —
--path ./dirfor custom targets
The direct installer supports --skills, --category, --risk, and --tags filters to avoid overloading agent context windows.
Specialized Plugins and Bundles
Beyond the full catalog, AAS ships focused domain plugins for Claude Code and Codex. The plugin catalog includes packs for web app building, product design, security engineering, secure app development, documents and presentations, data analytics, agent and MCP building, QA and test automation, DevOps and cloud, accessibility, API platform building, SaaS launch and revenue, and AI product evaluation ops. Bundles group related skills by role or goal (such as "Web Wizard" or "OSS Maintainer"), while workflows provide ordered playbooks for planning, shipping, testing, and auditing.
Update: v18.9.0 — Vercel Hosting, Guided Skill Intake, and New Reviewed Skills
The current release is v18.9.0, published on September 29, 2026, under the name "Vercel Hosting, Guided Skill Intake, and Two New Reviewed Skills." The repository is actively maintained on the main branch, with features listed under [Unreleased] in the changelog requiring a later release. The project is hosted on Vercel under its OSS program and is supported by Atlas Cloud for AI compute and media generation workflows, and Snyk for security tooling. The GitHub repository is canonical; the hosted catalog at aaskills.tech and the browser-local Workbench are companion discovery and review surfaces.
