Privacy and Data Model

The extension is designed as local-first. Conversation content is indexed and searched inside the browser and is never stored on Infi Developments' servers. Only user-built data — folder names, saved prompts, bookmarks, and tag rules — syncs to the company's servers, encrypted at rest. Smart Tags run entirely on-device. The extension is GDPR compliant and has passed Chrome Web Store security review. PDF export is the one exception where content is rendered server-side and returned without a copy being retained.

Who Built It and Why

AI Toolbox was co-founded by Adi Leviim (product and frontend, 7+ years of experience) and Mohammad El-Esawi (backend and LLM systems, 5+ years). The product originated in mid-2024 when both founders were heavy ChatGPT users frustrated by the lack of folders, content search, and bulk export. ChatGPT Toolbox launched on the Chrome Web Store in September 2024; Gemini, Claude, and Grok modules followed in 2026, prompting the rename to AI Toolbox.
