    About Almanac

Almanac is a Y Combinator-backed AI agent designed to act as a company's always-on digital employee. It connects to your existing tools, maintains a continuously updated company wiki, and executes tasks autonomously from its own computer — reporting back when work is done. Users interact with it through Slack, iMessage, or the web app, delegating tasks without needing to keep their own device open.

    What It Is

Almanac sits at the intersection of AI agents and knowledge management. Unlike chatbots that fetch information on demand, Almanac continuously compiles context from connected tools into a shared company wiki, then reads that wiki before taking any action. It operates on its own always-on machine with a real browser, file system, and persistent logins — meaning it can use tools that lack a formal API by simply signing in and navigating like a human would.

    How the Company Brain Works

The core architecture has two interlocking parts:

    • The self-updating wiki: As work happens across Slack, Gmail, Google Docs, GitHub, Granola, and other connected tools, Almanac compiles the meaningful understanding — decisions, commitments, open issues, customer context — into a structured wiki. Every entry links back to its source so users can verify or correct it.
    • The autonomous computer: Almanac runs on its own machine with its own browser. It can pull receipts, file GitHub issues with screenshots and repro steps, draft renewal decks, or send briefings — all without the user's laptop being open. At sensitive decision points (logins, payments, irreversible actions), it pauses and pings the user first.

    Workflow and Interaction Model

Users delegate tasks conversationally via Slack or iMessage. Almanac picks up the task, works through it using its wiki context and connected tools, and reports back when finished. The homepage illustrates this with examples like: scanning a customer Slack channel and filing GitHub issues with repro steps, or answering "what did we promise Vercel on pricing?" by pulling from a compiled wiki page that includes a specific email confirmation date.

Teammates share a company wiki but keep their individual connected accounts private — only the distilled understanding (the decision, not the inbox) flows into the shared layer. Shared accounts can be added explicitly by the organization.

    Integrations and Platform Support

Almanac connects to a growing set of tools shown on the homepage:

    • Communication: Slack, iMessage, Gmail
    • Productivity: Google Calendar, Google Docs, Granola
    • Development: GitHub
    • Browser: Chrome (for web-based tools without a direct integration)

For tools without a native integration, Almanac uses its own browser to sign in and operate them directly.

    Current Status

Almanac is actively available with a 7-day free trial across all plans. The product is backed by Y Combinator and positions itself as a persistent, always-on alternative to running local AI models that stop when you close your laptop. The enterprise tier includes SSO, access controls, and rollout support, indicating the product is targeting both small teams and larger organizations.
