Atlassian Rovo is an AI-powered teammate that combines enterprise search, conversational chat, autonomous agents, and a no-code builder into a single product layered across the Atlassian Cloud platform. • Rovo Chat — Conversational AI that can draft content, summarize Confluence pages, and take actions like creating Jira issues, sending Slack messages, or scheduling Google Calendar meetings. Includes a Deep Research mode that produces fully cited multi-source reports.
• Rovo Agents — Specialized AI teammates for service desks, software development, and general team workflows. Examples include automating ticket triage, briefing incident responders, generating post-incident reviews, and producing status reports.
• Rovo Studio — A no-code and low-code builder for creating custom agents, automation rules written in natural language, internal hubs (intranets and help centers), and asset records. Supports external tool integration including MCP servers.

Deployment Model

Rovo is a cloud-only product running on the Atlassian Cloud platform. There is no on-premises or self-hosted option. Customers on Atlassian Data Center can use Rovo Data Center connectors to sync Jira and Confluence content into the cloud, but the AI features themselves require a Standard, Premium, or Enterprise Cloud plan. Access surfaces include the Atlassian web apps, the Rovo Chrome extension, and the Confluence mobile app (with voice or text chat).

Audience and Use Cases

Rovo targets organizations already running on Atlassian Cloud who want to layer AI across their existing work. Service teams use it to deflect tickets and accelerate incident response, product and engineering teams use it to query roadmaps and pull together cross-tool context, and operations teams use it to build internal hubs and automations. Because Rovo is bundled with eligible Atlassian Cloud subscriptions rather than sold per seat, it tends to roll out organization-wide rather than to a specific function.

Pricing and Licensing

Rovo is automatically included at no additional cost with Standard, Premium, and Enterprise Cloud plans of Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and the Service and Teamwork Collections. Usage is metered with Rovo credits — a per-user, per-month allowance that scales with the subscription tier (25 credits/user on Standard, 70 on Premium, 150 on Enterprise for Jira/Confluence/JSM; the Teamwork Collection grants 10x those allowances at 250/700/1,500). Credits are pooled at the organization level, reset monthly, and do not roll over. Chat and Agent requests cost 10 credits each, Deep Research costs 100 credits per request, and Search, summaries, and definitions are free. A standalone Rovo Standard plan is currently in beta (free during beta, 400 credits per user per month) for organizations without a paid Atlassian subscription, with Rovo Free as the fallback tier. Atlassian is not currently billing for usage beyond the included allowance and has committed to at least 90 days' notice and explicit opt-in before any overage charges begin. Rovo is compliant with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 and offers data residency and AI access controls.
