About Brainbase
Brainbase Labs, Inc. builds an agent cloud for hosting internal AI agents, scoring every run, and evaluating changes before they ship, across any model or harness. Teams define agents in a configuration file, deploy them through an API or CLI, and reach users on surfaces such as chat, Slack, Zoom and email.
What It Is
Brainbase is a managed platform for running production AI agents. It exposes one Managed Agents API with a registry for versioned agents, skills and tools, managed authentication for connected tools, a model router, and support for multiple agent harnesses. Agents are declared in YAML (harness, model, instructions, skills, MCP connections) and pushed to the cloud with a single CLI command.
How Autoimprove Works
The homepage describes a four-step loop: define the agent, define success using production examples or a golden dataset with scored criteria, configure an experiment budget (for example a per-run cost cap), and let Autoimprove iterate. Changes such as swapping models, editing instructions or adding skills are tracked against eval score and average cost per run.
Orchestration, Surfaces and Scale
Multi-agent orchestration supports hand-offs between agents, shared tools, memory and state, and triggers from webhooks, schedules and app events. Full audit trails log agent steps, tool calls and decisions. Agents can be exposed through API, web chat, Slack, Zoom, iMessage, Teams, WhatsApp, email and voice. Sandboxes run on providers such as Modal, Daytona and E2B or a customer's own cloud, on Linux, Windows and macOS, and Brainbase says they scale from one to over a million.
Observability and Deployment
Trace search, trace waterfalls, live latency, cost and quality metrics, alerts, quality gates that can block releases, and human annotation are provided. Deployment options listed are managed cloud, private cloud (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud), on-premise and hybrid. Brainbase states it holds SOC 2 Type II certification and supports GDPR, HIPAA, SSO/SAML and role-based permissions. Its Explore page lists models and harnesses from many labs available on the platform.
