Buddy

Buddy (buddy.works) is a DevOps and platform engineering suite that covers building, testing, deploying and monitoring software. The About page lists 2015 as its founding year. Pipelines can be designed in a UI or in YAML, and the docs also describe use from the bdy CLI, API, Terraform and AI coding agents.

What It Is

Buddy is a delivery platform that brings CI/CD pipelines, deployment targets, environments, domain management and sandboxes into one product. Teams build pipelines with a visual editor or YAML, run actions in containers, and deploy to servers, clouds and CDNs. The homepage describes change-aware builds, matrix steps, a secrets store, OIDC, manual approvals and one-click rollback.

Deployment, Environments and Testing

Remote deployments support agent and agentless modes and deploy only what has changed. Environments can be provisioned automatically on Buddy's cloud, the customer's AWS or a local network, with a URL for each branch and pull request. Visual regression testing works with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Figma and Storybook, and uses baseline branching to compare snapshots. Docs also cover unit test results with flaky and slow test detection, and Terraform/OpenTofu plan, approve and apply flows.

Networking, Domains and Dev Cloud

Tunnels connect to external networks over HTTP, TLS or TCP, with OAuth, SAML and OIDC protection and traffic logging. The Domains product provides DNS management through Git, UI or API, automated SSL certificates, DNSSEC and DMARC. Dev Cloud runs applications on MicroVMs and static sites from pipelines, with per-branch environments and load-based autoscaling.

AI Agent Support

The documentation describes connecting AI coding agents to Buddy: running them as pipeline actions, in isolated sandboxes, or from a terminal via the bdy CLI, a Buddy skill and a remote MCP server for pipelines, sandboxes, domains and packages.

Enterprise and Security

The enterprise page lists SSO/SAML, advanced RBAC, IP filtering, US or EU server regions, automated backups, and states SOC2 Type II certification, PCI and GDPR compliance.
