About Claudete
Claudete is a macOS desktop application that acts as a control panel for running multiple AI coding agents — Claude Code, Codex, Grok, and OpenCode — simultaneously in one unified window. It works on top of the CLIs and AI subscriptions you already have, requiring no API keys or additional billing. The app is available as a free download for macOS 13+ on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, with a one-time Pro upgrade that removes the instance cap.
What It Is
Claudete sits between you and your AI agent CLIs, giving you a tiled grid interface where every agent session gets its own row. Rather than replacing Claude Code or Codex, it commands them — launching, monitoring, and coordinating multiple instances from a single panel. The core pitch is parallel throughput: ship ten tasks at once using the subscriptions you already pay for.
How the Fleet Workflow Works
The app organizes agents and shells in a flexible grid layout:
- Named instances — each project, branch, or experiment gets its own labeled row
- Real shells alongside agents — full interactive terminals sit next to agent sessions in the same window
- Broadcast — send one prompt to every agent in a room simultaneously, or @mention a specific instance for targeted follow-ups
- Shared chat rooms — a multi-agent chat log lets you drop a plan once and watch agents coordinate in the same thread
This workflow is designed to eliminate alt-tabbing across a wall of terminals and reduce the manual overhead of managing parallel AI workstreams.
Observability and Usage Tracking
Claudete surfaces several monitoring layers that are otherwise invisible when running agents directly from the CLI:
- Live usage meters — 5-hour and 7-day windows with time-to-reset displayed in the sidebar, so you pace work against plan caps intentionally
- 30-day telemetry — aggregate view of tokens, messages, sessions, and an estimated API cost equivalent
- Resource monitor — real-time CPU and memory per instance, summed across each process tree, sortable by load
- Provider status — live health pulled from Anthropic, OpenAI, and xAI's official status pages, with notifications when an outage starts or clears
Platform and Deployment Model
Claudete is a native macOS desktop app requiring macOS 13 or later. It also offers a CLI variant for Linux servers. The app requires no account to use the free tier — download, point it at your projects, and run. The Pro license is activated by pasting a key into Settings → License; it works offline and can be moved between Macs.
Supported agent CLIs at launch include Claude Code, Codex, Grok, and OpenCode. The app is explicitly not affiliated with Anthropic.
Pricing Model
Claudete uses a freemium-plus-lifetime model: every feature is available for free with up to three simultaneous instances. A one-time Pro purchase removes the instance cap and is licensed for three Macs, with updates included. There is no subscription.
