About Dial
Dial is a communication stack built specifically for AI agents, providing real phone numbers with voice, SMS, and iMessage capabilities through a single REST API, MCP server, CLI, or SDK. Built by Genway (Genway Inc, Delaware, USA and Genway Israel Ltd), the team operates across San Francisco and Tel Aviv. Every account starts with free credit and no credit card required, and agents can provision a number in seconds.
What It Is
Dial is a telecom infrastructure layer that gives AI agents a first-class phone identity — not a human-facing app, but a programmable communication stack designed for the 1:100 agent-to-human ratio era. Where traditional telecom platforms like Twilio assume a human is holding the phone, Dial treats agents as the primary user. A single API call provisions a US, Canadian, or international number that can place and receive voice calls, send and receive two-way SMS, and send iMessage with automatic RCS/SMS fallback — all delivered to one unified webhook in a consistent format.
How Agents Get Started
Dial offers two primary setup paths:
- No-code / agent-driven: Paste a single prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Grok, or any MCP-compatible agent. The agent self-onboards via
skills.md, signs up, provisions a number, and can place a call within roughly 30 seconds. - SDK & API: Install the Node.js (
@getdial/sdk) or Python SDK, wire it into LangChain, or call the REST API directly. The SDK exposes methods for listing numbers, making calls, reading transcripts, and streaming events.
The MCP server works out of the box with Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Grok, and any MCP client, making Dial a natural fit for the growing ecosystem of agentic coding tools.
Core Capabilities
- Real phone numbers: Provision US, Canadian, and international numbers via API in seconds
- iMessage native: Blue-bubble iMessage from the agent's own number, with automatic RCS/SMS fallback
- SMS worldwide: Two-way SMS across 200+ countries, organized into seven regional pricing tiers
- Voice calls: Inbound and outbound calls with real-time transcription and TTS replies; supports both self-hosted (bring your own LLM over WebSocket) and Dial-managed modes
- Unified webhook: One webhook receives every channel — call, SMS, iMessage — in the same signed format
- 10DLC / A2P registration: Self-healing 10DLC feature for high-volume US SMS, with approval in 1–3 days per the site's announcement
Architecture and the ACES Standard
Dial publishes a technical whitepaper introducing the Agent Channel Exchange Standard (ACES), an open protocol designed to address what the company describes as the fundamental mismatch between legacy telecom infrastructure (built for humans) and the scale at which AI agents need to communicate. The whitepaper argues that a 1:100 agent-to-human ratio breaks every communication system ever built, and ACES is positioned as the replacement layer.
Enterprise and Security Posture
Dial holds SOC 2 certification and claims compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA. The enterprise tier adds white-glove onboarding, dedicated account management, uptime SLAs, and custom invoicing with PO and net-terms support — all priced against committed volume. The pay-as-you-go tier is metered to the cent with no minimum commitment.
Update: Self-Healing 10DLC Launch
The site prominently announces a Self-Healing 10DLC feature, reducing US SMS campaign registration time to 1–3 days. This is positioned as a significant improvement over the standard 3–5 business day window previously listed for 10DLC/A2P registration, and reflects active product development on the compliance and carrier-approval side of the platform.
