Elvin
Proactive AI assistant that watches your inbox, calendar, and messages to draft work before you ask, then acts with your approval.

About Elvin
Elvin is a proactive AI assistant built by Elvin, Inc., a startup co-founded by alumni of Google Play, Slack, and Samsung SmartThings. Rather than waiting for a prompt, Elvin monitors your email, calendar, and messages to surface pending work and draft responses or documents before you think to ask. The product is currently in private beta and free during that period.
What It Is
Elvin sits in the category of autonomous AI assistants, but with a specific design philosophy: it acts ahead of the user rather than on demand. It connects to your existing data sources — inbox, calendar, project tools, CRM — reads context continuously, and surfaces drafted work items on a home screen or daily briefing. You review and approve; Elvin sends or executes. The core loop is "catch, draft, approve" rather than "prompt, generate, copy-paste."
How the Proactive Workflow Works
Elvin's workflow has three layers working together:
- Context — Elvin reads who you are and how you work from your existing activity, building a live profile without manual configuration.
- Memory — Behavioral preferences told to Elvin once ("keep follow-ups under three sentences") persist and shape future drafts automatically.
- Skills — Pre-built workflow templates for roles like product manager, consultant, founder, and investor. Each Skill runs at the right moment and surfaces a result for approval. Users can also describe a custom Skill and Elvin builds it.
When Elvin detects a recurring pattern in how you work, it offers to take that task over permanently. You approve once; it runs from then on.
Platform and Deployment
Elvin runs as a cloud-based service with no local installation required. According to the product page, it is accessible in five places: a web browser, iOS app, Android app, Telegram, and SMS. The Telegram and SMS channels are described as first-class interfaces, not integrations — users can message Elvin like a coworker to kick off tasks or receive briefings. Computer-use capabilities run sandboxed in the cloud, allowing Elvin to produce finished files (documents, spreadsheets, decks) rather than instructions.
Integrations and Data Sources
Elvin connects to a wide range of workplace tools. Core data sources listed on the homepage include Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, Linear, Granola, Apple Calendar, and Apple Reminders. Additional integrations span:
- Microsoft & Google: Outlook, Teams, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive
- CRM & sales: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Apollo
- Messaging: Slack
- Project & docs: Asana, Trello, Monday.com, Coda, Basecamp, ClickUp, Jira & Confluence, Airtable
- Meetings & notes: Zoom, Otter, Fathom
- Commerce & finance: Stripe, Shopify, QuickBooks
- HR & ops: Greenhouse, BambooHR, Gusto, Lattice, Lever, Rippling
Security and Trust Model
Elvin holds CASA Tier 2 certification from an independent security review and states SOC 2 compliance is in progress. The product page explicitly states Elvin never trains on user data. Cloud-based computer use runs sandboxed with only the access needed for each task, and no sensitive action executes without explicit user approval.
Team and Current Status
Elvin was founded by Ellie Powers, who led Google Play developer products and worked on Slack's platform, and Vinay Rao, who built Samsung SmartThings integration foundations. The company describes itself as a technology startup currently in private beta. The homepage notes the product is free while in beta, and sign-up delivers email-based access directions.
