About InboxRhino
InboxRhino is a receive-only test-email API from Argali Knowledge Services Pvt Ltd. It gives developers and QA teams real inboxes on test.inboxrhino.in so they can verify signup, password-reset, magic-link and OTP emails in automated tests. A free tier is live, and a web console lets testers open received mail in a sandboxed viewer.
What It Is
InboxRhino is a test-email service built around a REST API. Each test creates its own inbox, triggers an email from the application under test, waits for the message, and then asserts on the parsed content. Addresses on test.inboxrhino.in receive real mail through Cloudflare, so it is not a local SMTP sandbox. Inboxes are receive-only: they cannot send, reply, or forward.
How an Email Test Works
The documented flow has four steps. POST /v1/inboxes returns a fresh address, and the app sends its normal email to it. GET /v1/inboxes/{id}/messages with wait_seconds holds the request open for up to 180 seconds and can filter by subject or sender. The test then reads the parsed text or HTML, extracts the code or link, and deletes the inbox to release the active-inbox quota. The docs include Playwright examples, an OpenAPI specification and a Postman collection. No SDK is required, and official SDK packaging is planned only after the API surface is stable.
Visual Debugging and Retention
The console opens the actual HTML email in a sandboxed viewer that blocks scripts, forms, popups and remote images, so QA can inspect an email as well as assert on JSON. Message content, headers and attachments are kept for 30 days and then deleted, while the inbox remains until it is deleted.
Current Status
The site states that the free tier is live, Starter is available with an access code, and paid checkout is coming soon. The company also publishes comparison pages against other email-testing tools and offers INR billing with GST invoices for Indian teams.
