About Listener API
Listener's developer platform exposes one API across Listener workspaces, covering shows, analytics, episodes, clusters, campaigns and reports. According to the docs, it returns the same numbers the Listener apps show, over REST, signed webhooks and an MCP server. The current documented version is API v1, dated 2026-10-14.
What It Is
The Listener API is a developer interface to Listener and Listener Networks workspaces. Developers create an API key under Settings → Developers, export it as LISTENER_API_KEY, and call endpoints such as GET /v1/me, which returns workspace details including its shows and the credential's scopes. Request samples are provided in curl, Node.js and Python.
Integration Surfaces
The docs describe several ways to work with workspace data:
- REST endpoints grouped into workspace and shows, episodes, analytics, clusters, campaigns, reports, sponsors, library and research, refresh, and partner integrations.
- Signed, retried webhooks for changes to campaigns, clusters, episodes or data, plus an Events API for polling.
- OAuth 2.0 using authorization code with PKCE, so Listener users can connect third-party apps with scoped, revocable access.
- An MCP server that connects Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to a workspace, with the same tools and numbers and guarded writes.
Developer Experience
Guides cover authentication, scopes, pagination, idempotency, rate limits, versioning, time windows, data freshness and a metrics glossary. A dry_run mode is documented for testing. Typed TypeScript and Python SDKs, generated from the OpenAPI document, are listed as coming soon. A status page, changelog and email support are provided.
Pricing and access
The quickstart requires a Listener account with at least one show. Listener publishes parent-service plans at $49/month (Essential), $249/month (Pro), and Network starting at $1,000/month. The reviewed pricing page does not state which plan includes API access or whether additional API charges apply, so those prices should not be treated as standalone API rates.
