About Ochrelle
Ochrelle is an open-source collection of Agent Skills maintained by Zynu and Shraddha. It pairs one master skill that chooses a visual style for a product with 27 specialist skills that carry out a specific style. Skills are plain markdown, CSS, and Python, and the current version is 2.0.0 under the MIT license.
What It Is
Ochrelle is a repository of design skills for AI coding agents, following the Agent Skills format (a SKILL.md with YAML frontmatter plus supporting reference files). It is not a plugin market, framework, or hosted service; there is no runtime, and each skill is a folder of markdown that an agent reads once it is copied where the agent can find it.
The project's stated problem is that generated interfaces tend to look the same because the prompt lacks art-direction reasoning, per-style craft knowledge, and accessibility guardrails.
How the Skills Work
The master skill, ochrelle-design-master, interviews the product context (audience, platform, brand temperature, content density), compares candidate styles, records its decision, and routes to a specialist. A specialist can also be loaded directly when the style is already decided.
The 27 specialists span visual styles (such as minimalism, glassmorphism, brutalism), layout patterns (bento grid), period aesthetics (retro, Art Deco, Memphis), thematic genres (cyberpunk, vaporwave, futuristic HUD), platform materials (Liquid Glass), and interaction paradigms (spatial UI). Each skill includes a style guide, code recipes, anti-patterns, a quality checklist, and WCAG 2.2 AA notes written for its style. Reference files are read on demand to keep context small.
Setup Path
The documented install path is Claude Code, by copying skill directories into ~/.claude/skills. A dependency-free scripts/install.sh copies all skills or a single one into any folder, and the docs include a compatibility matrix for agents such as Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, and Aider. Two stdlib-only Python validators and a 29-case test suite check skill frontmatter, references, and repository structure.
Tradeoffs to Know
The README states that behavior in agent runtimes other than Claude Code has not been systematically tested, that the style guidance is editorial rather than empirical, and that WCAG guidance is not a substitute for an accessibility audit. The web showcase is a hand-built approximation of ten core styles.
