Outside Agent

Outside Agent, from Santa's AI Lab Inc., lets teams build customer-facing AI agents that run on web, SMS and voice. Agents are created from a coding agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor by connecting a single MCP URL, then tested and published on the platform.

What It Is

Outside Agent is an agent-building and hosting platform for repeatable customer workflows such as quote intake, lead follow-up, scheduling, support and reminders. Each agent is built around a specific job: it asks questions, collects information, answers from approved source material, triggers configured actions, and hands off to a person when judgment is needed. The homepage states that no SDKs or keys are needed and that it handles phone numbers and messaging, without requiring your own Twilio or SMS backend setup.

How Building Works

The docs describe a narrow-first approach: define the job and what the agent should avoid, add knowledge such as policies, FAQs, menus or intake rules, then test realistic scenarios before publishing. The quick start is a prompt pasted into Claude Code or Codex that signs the user in by phone or email verification code, then registers the Outside Agent MCP server (https://mcp.outsideagent.ai/mcp) in the editor via browser sign-in. Once connected, the coding agent builds, tests and publishes the agent using the builder tools.

Control and Human Handoff

Users choose what the agent can say, which channels it uses, when it escalates, and how usage is billed. Sensitive, uncertain or high-value moments can be routed to a person rather than having the agent guess. Example agents on the homepage include a legal intake agent that gathers a client's story, timeline, people and documents into a case file for attorney review, with other examples in dental, events and Meta ads.
