About Parabol
Parabol is a browser-based meeting platform for agile teams that structures retrospectives, sprint poker, standups, check-ins and team health checks. Teams can run these meetings live or asynchronously, capture takeaway tasks, and receive automated meeting summaries. The product is open source and can be used on the public SaaS or self-hosted, and it also exposes a GraphQL API.
What It Is
Parabol facilitates agile ceremonies with a pre-built structure rather than a blank whiteboard. Retrospectives support anonymous reflections, grouping, voting and discussion threads. Sprint Poker pulls issues from backlog tools for estimation with a digital card deck. Standups and team check-ins can run synchronously or asynchronously, with optional icebreakers. Meetings can start from 40+ templates or custom ones, and a timer keeps discussion on track.
Team Health
Team Health is a recurring check of five anonymous questions, one per category drawn from Google's Project Aristotle. Question packs include Parabol's Everything Bagel default, Gallup Q12, and others, and teams can add their own questions. Individual scores are not shown to anyone, results reveal when the check closes, comments are reworded by AI, and a trend across checks is shown. The page states that organization-wide reporting is planned for Enterprise and is not yet available.
Integrations and API
Tasks created in meetings sync to tools such as Jira, GitHub, GitLab, Linear and Azure DevOps. Slack, Mattermost and Microsoft Teams notify teammates about meetings. A GraphQL API uses scoped personal access tokens, includes a GraphiQL explorer, and offers llms.txt references for AI agents.
Deployment and Security
Parabol can be hosted on its public SaaS or self-hosted on a team's own servers. Enterprise features documented include SAML single sign-on, auditable source code and a dedicated support channel.
