About Pyor
Pyor is a GitHub code review tool built by an independent developer, available in the browser and as a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux. It groups a pull request's diff by what needs human attention, flags mechanical noise to skim, and lets reviewers comment, reply, resolve and submit reviews without opening github.com. The site says it talks to GitHub directly from the user's machine, so code does not pass through Pyor's servers.
What It Is
Pyor is a review surface for GitHub pull requests that combines a file rail, diff, conversation, checks and the merge decision in one window. Its AI grouping arranges files by importance or walkthrough rather than alphabetically, separating hand-written core changes from codemod output, config and lockfiles. Compact hints are pinned to specific lines instead of long summaries, which the vendor describes as AI that points rather than writes.
Review Workflow
Reviewers can leave inline comments, replies, suggestions and resolve threads in place, and mark whole groups of files as viewed. Focus mode collapses resolved threads, outdated comments and stale reviews so only open discussion remains. Markdown documents such as ADRs, specs and READMEs are rendered, and highlighting a sentence creates a comment anchored to the underlying source line, posted as an ordinary PR review comment. An inbox collects review threads, mentions and replies across repositories, and a team view ranks open PRs by how much the user can unblock.
Local Pre-PR Review for Agents
Running the /pyor:review command in a coding-agent session opens the working-tree diff in Pyor as a local review, grouped and hinted by the session that wrote the code. Comments can be sent back to the agent to be addressed before a pull request exists.
Privacy and Access
The vendor states its backend handles only sign-in, billing, team seats and synced settings, and never receives code, diffs or pull requests. Sign-in is with GitHub, and the FAQ covers private repositories and SAML SSO. GitLab and Bitbucket support is addressed in the FAQ, though its answers are not shown in the supplied content.
