Spaces is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that gives teams a shared environment for AI-assisted project work. Built by EZ-AI, it addresses the problem of fragmented AI context — where every team member has their own private chat history and no one can see each other's work. Spaces brings shared chats, shared files, and scheduled AI routines into a single project space.

What It Is

Spaces is a team collaboration layer built on top of the AI models you already pay for — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or locally-run models via Ollama. Rather than acting as an AI reseller, Spaces connects to your existing API keys and provides the shared workspace where those models do the work. Each project gets its own "space" containing a unified conversation history, shared files, specialist agents, and automated routines.

How the Workspace Model Works

Each space is organized around a project and can be used solo or shared with a team. Key structural elements include:

• Shared chats and files: Conversations and documents live in the space, not in any individual's private thread, so context persists across days and team members.
• Specialist agents: Users can create named agents (e.g., Researcher, Copywriter, Launch Lead), each with its own instructions, memory, and tools. Any team member can invoke any specialist.
• Routines: Scheduled tasks — morning briefs, weekly recaps, follow-ups — run automatically and ping a human only when a decision is needed.
• Built-in browser: Agents can browse the real web, click through pages, and stay signed in, because the browser lives inside the app.

Privacy and Data Architecture

Spaces takes a local-first approach to sensitive data. API keys, agent configurations, and connected accounts stay on each user's own machine and never go to the cloud. When a space is shared, only the chats, files, and routines sync to the cloud — and that content is encrypted at rest using a per-space key held in Google Cloud KMS, accessible only to space members. An enterprise option allows organizations to run the entire stack inside their own cloud so data never leaves their infrastructure.

Platform and Setup

Spaces runs as a native desktop app on Apple Silicon Macs and Windows PCs. Getting started requires no account — users download the app, paste an existing AI provider API key, and open a space. Inviting teammates converts a solo space into a shared cloud space, at which point each participant needs a seat. The app supports multiple AI providers simultaneously, with the ability to assign different models to different agents within the same space.

Current Status

The product is actively available for download, with the Mac (Apple Silicon) build linked directly from the homepage. The Windows version is also listed as supported. The free tier is fully functional as a solo desktop tool with no account required; the cloud/shared tier requires a paid seat per person. Enterprise deployments are available via direct contact.
