About Suprnova
Suprnova is an open-source, MIT-licensed full-stack web framework for Rust from EAS4AI. It brings Laravel-style conventions such as routes!, Eloquent-style models, Auth::login and Cache::remember to a Tokio, hyper and SeaORM stack. The current release is v4.4.0, which requires Rust 1.94.0 or newer.
What It Is
Suprnova is an application framework for building web products in Rust. Developers write handlers, models and routes with a Laravel-like API, and the compiler checks models, routes and page props. An app builds to a single binary that serves requests and can also run the queue worker, scheduler and workflow worker.
The CLI scaffolds projects with suprnova new for Svelte, React or Vue frontends, and suprnova serve runs a dev server on port 8765.
Frontend and Type Safety
The frontend bridge uses Inertia 3 with Svelte 5, React 19 or Vue 3.5. Page props are defined once in Rust with #[derive(InertiaProps)], and suprnova generate-types writes matching TypeScript types. A second option, Suprnova Live, provides server-rendered interactive components written as Rust structs with Askama views, with no frontend framework or Node.js required.
Built-In Subsystems
The framework documents support for:
- Routing, middleware and validation
- An Eloquent-style ORM over SQLite, Postgres, MySQL and MariaDB
- Authentication with guards, two-factor, passkeys, magic links and OAuth
- Queues, scheduling and durable workflows
- WebSockets and broadcasting
- Mail and notifications
- Filesystem storage
- Vector search and recommendations
- Payments adapters for Stripe, Paddle and NOWPayments
- Feature flags
- Testing fakes
Backends are traits with drivers selected by configuration.
Starter Kits and Agent Access
Nebula (authentication on Svelte 5) and Pulsar (product site and community on Vue 3.5) are forkable starter kits, alongside a directory starter and a Suprnova LSP language server. The manual, with 135 chapters, is also served over MCP at suprnova.app/mcp with tools to list, read and search chapters. Suprnova is distributed through git tags rather than crates.io.
