About Talorys
Talorys is an open-source personal AI assistant, created by Roc Yu (rociiu), that deploys into the user's own Cloudflare account with a single installer command. It offers chat, memory, tasks, notes, projects and scheduled automations without any server or database operated by the Talorys developers.
What It Is
Talorys is a self-hosted, single-user AI agent. The installer (npx create-talorys@latest) deploys a private Worker and a Cloudflare Pages frontend, and it sets an owner password that is hashed locally and stored as a Cloudflare secret. There is no signup, no accounts and no teams. The README states that it has no telemetry, analytics or tracking code.
How the Agent Works
The browser talks only to a Pages site, whose Pages Function forwards /api requests over a service binding to a private Worker that has no public URL. The agent is a Cloudflare Agents SDK Durable Object backed by SQLite, which stores conversations, memories, tasks, notes, projects, automations, sessions, settings and usage. Chat uses Workers AI (@cf/zai-org/glm-4.7-flash) with streaming and tool calling, and responses stream as Server-Sent Events. Reminders and recurring schedules run on Durable Object alarms.
Memory, Tasks and Automations
Memories are durable personal facts that can be viewed, edited and deleted, and only the most relevant ones are sent to the model each turn. Optional semantic recall finds memories by meaning. Tasks, notes and projects can be managed in the UI or from chat. Automations include one-time and recurring reminders, daily task digests and optional AI routines delivered to an in-app notification center. Tasks, notes, memories and reminders keep working when Workers AI is unavailable.
Setup and Maintenance
The installer requires Node.js 22+, checks the Cloudflare login, deploys the resources and verifies the live deployment. It can be re-run if interrupted. Further commands cover update, status, doctor and reset-password. Settings include guardrails such as token limits, tool-call limits and daily AI request caps. Backups can be downloaded and imported as JSON from Settings. Local development uses a mock AI provider, so no Cloudflare login is needed.
