    About Tutti

Tutti is an open-source desktop workspace that lets multiple AI agents collaborate in real time, sharing context, files, running tasks, and apps without requiring the user to manually copy-paste outputs between them. Built by the tutti-os organization and licensed under Apache 2.0, it is available as a free macOS download today, with a cloud-based collaborative variant called Tutti · VM on the way via waitlist.

    What It Is

Tutti sits as a layer around your existing AI agent subscriptions—Claude Code, Codex, Hermes, and others—giving them a shared workspace so they can hand off work to each other without losing context. Rather than replacing your coding agent, Tutti acts as the connective tissue: a GUI-based environment where agents can reference each other's conversations, files, and app outputs using a "@" mention system. The project describes its core problem as the user becoming "the messenger between agents," and Tutti's answer is a persistent, real-time shared state that all agents can read and write.

    Three Core Capabilities

Tutti's README outlines three main feature pillars:

    • Real-time shared workspace: Agents share the same live project state—what's being discussed, what's running, and what has already been created. The "Big @" system lets any agent reference another agent's past conversations, files, app invocations, and tasks without re-uploading or re-explaining.
    • Built-in app ecosystem: Tutti ships with an app center that includes AI Canvas (image generation), Prototype Design (UI/UX), AI Docs, AI Sheets, AI PPT, Document Summarizer, and more. Both users and agents can invoke these apps; outputs stay in the shared workspace and can be referenced by the next step.
    • Less work about work: A "Goals to Tasks" feature lets users describe a high-level goal and have Tutti break it into sub-tasks that can be assigned to specific agents. A Control Center view surfaces all pending approvals and running tasks in one place, and the entire interface is GUI-based with no terminal required.

    Tutti vs. Tutti · VM

The project ships in two variants:

Tutti (open source)Tutti · VM (coming soon)
Best forOne person, multiple agentsTeams, multiple devices, multi-user agent collaboration
Runs onLocal; working state stays localMulti-layer virtualization; agent runs locally, state lives in the cloud
SharingContext, apps, outputs, tasks across agentsEverything in local, plus cross-device and cross-user sharing

Tutti · VM uses multi-layer virtualization to push the local agent's working state into a shared cloud room, enabling teammates to @ each other's files and agent conversations, preview localhost sites without deploying, and assign tasks to a teammate's agent.

    Audience and Use Cases

The README identifies several target audiences: independent developers who want Claude to draft a plan and Codex to carry development forward; designers who build mockups and let Codex turn them into code; product managers who generate PRDs and then call a UI/UX app to produce a prototype; and content creators who handle scripts, visuals, and layouts end-to-end in one workspace. The project explicitly states it is not limited to coding—design, content, and app workflows are all supported.

    Update: v0.2.9 and Open-Source Launch

The GitHub repository was created in June 2026 and reached version v0.2.9 as of July 31, 2026, with the last push recorded on August 4, 2026. The README announces "Tutti is now open-source" as a recent milestone, and Tutti · VM is described as "on the way" with a waitlist available on the website. The repository had accumulated over 3,200 stars and 317 forks at the time of indexing, with 154 open issues indicating active community engagement. The project is written primarily in TypeScript and accepts community contributions via a published Contributing Guide.
