Warp
To empower developers to ship better software more quickly, freeing them to focus on their work's creative and rewarding aspects. Warp has evolved from a modern terminal to an agentic development environment - a workbench for dispatching agents to code, deploy, and debug production software.

Products & Services
Rust-based modern terminal emulator with IDE-like editing capabilities, blocks for organizing input/output, and compatibility with Zsh, Bash, fish, PowerShell, WSL, and Git Bash across MacOS, Linux, and Windows.
AI-powered command suggestions and chat assistant that understands natural language and helps with complex workflows. Supports multiple frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
Cloud-based workspace for saving and sharing Workflows, Notebooks, Prompts, and Environment Variables across personal and team use.
AI agent that can directly accomplish multi-step tasks in the terminal by understanding plain English commands and executing complex workflows.
Market Position
Warp positions itself as the world's first Agentic Development Environment (ADE), differentiating from traditional terminal emulators (iTerm2, Hyper, Alacritty) by integrating AI agents directly into the terminal experience. Unlike standalone AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor), Warp combines terminal, code editing, and AI agents in one workflow-native application. Ranked #1 on Terminal-Bench and #5 on SWE-bench Verified benchmarks. The company emphasizes 'human + AI' collaboration where developers become tech leads for groups of agents.

Founding Story
Warp was founded during the peak of COVID-19 pandemic in June 2020. Zach Lloyd noticed the terminal had stayed the same for almost 40 years and modern terminals still emulate physical ones, implementing a subset of functionality from VT100. The initial prototype was an Electron app, but the team pivoted and rewrote the application in Rust with support from Nathan Sobo (Atom editor creator) to create an OS-native, blazingly fast application utilizing GPU rendering. Early team members included Shikhiu Ing (founding designer), Michelle Lim, and Aloke Desai.
