About ClawX
ClawX is an open-source desktop application from the ValueCell team that wraps the OpenClaw AI agent runtime in a graphical interface. It embeds the runtime in the app, so users can set up providers, chat with agents, schedule tasks and manage skills without using a terminal. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, and the latest listed release is v0.6.0.
What It Is
ClawX is a desktop front end for OpenClaw agents. A first-launch Setup Wizard walks through language and region, AI provider credentials (API keys or OAuth), skill bundles and a configuration check. The app manages the OpenClaw Gateway lifecycle automatically and offers visual settings in place of configuration files.
Agents, Chat and Channels
The chat interface supports multiple sessions with history, streaming Markdown with syntax highlighting and math, direct @agent routing, inline /skill cards and subagent status. It also previews Markdown, docx, pptx and local HTML files. Users can create and manage specialized agents, and configure multiple messaging channels with several accounts and per-account agent binding, including a bundled WeChat channel plugin and a DingTalk connector. Cron-style schedules, recurring or one-time, can include skills in prompts and deliver results to external channels.
Skills, Providers and Computer Use
Skills are managed locally, discovered from multiple OpenClaw sources, and include bundled document-processing skills for pdf, xlsx, docx and pptx. Providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Z.AI / GLM can be connected, with credentials stored in the native system keychain. An optional, off-by-default Computer Use feature on macOS 13+ and Windows x64 lets agents operate the desktop through a bundled native CLI. It requires a model that supports image input, and screenshots read for model vision may be sent to the model provider. Voice dictation through a user-configured speech-to-text service is available in Developer Mode.
Setup Path
Pre-built releases are available for download, or the app can be built from source with pnpm. Documented requirements are macOS 11+, Windows 10+ or Ubuntu 20.04+, 4GB RAM minimum and 1GB of disk. Proxy settings cover Electron, the Gateway and channels such as Telegram. The project is MIT licensed, and the README invites contact about an enterprise edition.
