    About Dray

Dray is a desktop home for coding agents, made by Monorepo Labs and released under the Apache 2.0 license. It wraps coding-agent CLIs (Claude Code, Codex, fx, pi) in a native chat UI, and the website lists Grok as well. Each session gets its own worktree, diff view, PR panel, issue panel and embedded browser. A macOS download is offered on the project site.

    What It Is

Dray is a desktop app for running several coding agents side by side instead of juggling separate terminals. The site says it runs on the subscriptions users already have. The app is built with Tauri, using a React 19 and Vite frontend with a Rust backend.

    Parallel sessions and split view

One agent can be asked to split work into tasks. Each task starts as its own session in its own worktree and reports back to the parent session. Sessions can be dragged onto the chat to split the view into as many live-streaming panes as wanted. A dray CLI talks to the running app over a local socket, so an agent in one session can create, list and message other sessions.

    Review and merge workflow

A pull request panel shows checks, review threads and merge readiness beside the transcript, and the PR can be merged from the panel. An issues panel lets users tag issues with # and shows the description, comments and attachments next to the conversation. An embedded Chromium browser tab lets the agent run the app and check its own UI work, and users can browse in it too.

    Local dictation

Pressing ⌘D starts dictation, which the site says is transcribed on the Mac by a local model so nothing leaves the machine. The README states dictation runs on transcribe.cpp.

    Setup path

The built app is downloaded for macOS. To build from source, you need Node with pnpm, a Rust toolchain and cmake. The standalone dray CLI installs via a shell install script.
