    About Luke

Luke is a macOS app from Stage Inc. for planning a feature by voice before handing it to a coding agent. You describe the feature, Luke reads your code and asks about what you left open, and a second model writes the plan during the call. The finished plan can be copied into Claude Code, Codex, or any other agent. The project is open source under Apache-2.0.

    What It Is

Luke is a voice-driven planning tool for developers who work with coding agents. Instead of writing a spec by hand, you talk through a feature while Luke inspects the project folder you chose and asks clarifying questions until the plan is complete.

    How a Planning Session Works

You create a new plan, name it, and select your project's folder. You press the microphone and describe the feature, then answer Luke's questions. The plan is written during the call and can be copied with one button and pasted into your coding agent.

    Plan Format

Plans follow a structured format with these sections: Goal, Scope, Rules (with Given/When/Then examples), Implementation, Decisions, Verification, Left to the agent, Open questions, and Assumptions. The README says the format draws on GitHub's Spec Kit, OpenAI's ExecPlans, and Example Mapping.

    Code Access and Privacy

The README states Luke does not upload your repository. When the planning model needs a file, your Mac runs a read-only command such as ls, grep, or cat in the plan's folder, inside a macOS sandbox with no network access, no write access, and no access to .env files. Only the command's output is sent to Luke's service.

    Setup Path

Luke requires an Apple silicon Mac on macOS 14 or newer. Download the DMG, drag Luke into Applications, and sign in with Google or GitHub. Microphone access is requested the first time you start a call.
