About Opposable
Opposable is a Reval Labs project that gives AI agents computer use on phones. It connects Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other MCP clients to an Android phone, an iPhone through a Mac (beta), or a rented cloud Android phone, so the agent can open apps, read the screen and complete tasks.
What It Is
Opposable is a phone-control layer for AI agents. A free Android app (Android 11 or later) runs its own MCP server and REST API and uses Android's Accessibility settings to operate the device. The agent sees a screenshot plus the screen as a list of labelled elements, and acts with taps, swipes, typing, system keys and app or link launches. Payments and purchases stop and wait for an Approve tap on the phone.
How It Connects
Users can add Opposable as a custom connector in Claude or ChatGPT by pasting an MCP URL, or connect Claude Code, Codex and Cursor with a single command. Connections work over USB, the same Wi-Fi, or through a relay that the phone reaches with one outbound connection, so no port forwarding is needed. For iPhone, Opposable for Mac (beta) pairs as a Bluetooth keyboard and pointer and sees the screen via cable or AirPlay, with no jailbreak and no app on the phone. On Windows or Linux, a small Opposable Stick handles the Bluetooth part.
On-Device Agent and Automation
The app includes its own agent that runs on the phone. The site says it handles about 40 everyday tasks with no model, and uses a 1.4 GB screen model for other apps. On recent Snapdragon phones the vision step can use the NPU. Tasks can be delegated through MCP or a REST endpoint and webhooks, scheduled to run on their own, and saved as recipes that replay without a model. The phone reads 2FA codes from texts and clears pop-ups.
Cloud Phones
For users without a spare phone, Opposable offers private virtual Android 15 phones with Google Play, Aurora Store and F-Droid, controlled through an MCP endpoint and a browser viewer. The site notes that some apps, such as certain banking apps, refuse to run on virtual phones.
