Overmind

Overmind, from UK-based Overmind Technology Ltd, is a platform for teams that run AI agents and want to train smaller specialized models from their own production data. It covers observability, dataset preparation, evaluation, and fine-tuning and deployment in one place. The code is published on GitHub under AGPL-3.0, and a hosted console is also available.

What It Is

Overmind is a model training platform for AI teams. Instead of using a frontier model for every task, teams train smaller models for the specific work their agents do, such as labeling emails or calling APIs, and measure them against the model they use today. The company describes its mission as turning every company into a frontier lab.

From Production Traces to a Trained Model

The workflow runs in four stages shown on the homepage:

• Understand: connect a repository and production traces to see how an agent makes decisions, and inspect the failing step, the tool call, and the surrounding context.
• Prepare: build datasets from production traces in a Data Workshop, then clean, filter, and prepare examples for training and evaluation.
• Evaluate: test prompts and models against real tasks from production data, compare against the current model, inspect failures, and catch regressions before deployment.
• Train: fine-tune an open model on your own data. Overmind handles training and deployment, and you own the weights, with the choice to host on Overmind or run it yourself.

Deployment and Data Handling

The platform can be self-hosted on your own infrastructure with Docker Compose. Overmind states that proprietary operational data is not used to train public foundation models, and that its verification harnesses test model outputs before deployment. The product pages also list an MCP offering and comparison pages against tools such as LangSmith, Langfuse, and OpenPipe.
