About PM Skills Marketplace
PM Skills Marketplace is an open-source plugin system built by Paweł Huryn of The Product Compass, designed to give product managers structured, framework-driven AI assistance inside Claude Code and Claude Cowork. Rather than relying on generic AI responses, it encodes proven PM methodologies into reusable skills, slash commands, and installable plugins. The project is licensed under MIT and hosted on GitHub.
What It Is
PM Skills Marketplace is a collection of 68 skills, 42 chained commands, and 9 plugins that extend AI coding and chat tools with product management domain knowledge. Each skill encodes a specific PM framework — from Teresa Torres's Opportunity Solution Tree to Marty Cagan's product model principles — and walks users through it step by step. The result is structured product thinking delivered inside the AI tools PMs already use, rather than a standalone app.
How Skills, Commands, and Plugins Work Together
The marketplace is organized into three layers:
- Skills are the atomic building blocks. Each skill gives the AI domain knowledge or a guided workflow for a specific PM task (e.g.,
prioritize-assumptions,competitor-analysis,create-prd). Skills load automatically when relevant or can be force-invoked by name. - Commands are user-triggered slash workflows (e.g.,
/discover,/write-prd,/plan-launch) that chain multiple skills into an end-to-end process. After each command completes, it suggests the next logical command in the PM workflow. - Plugins group related skills and commands into installable packages covering nine PM domains: product discovery, product strategy, execution, market research, data analytics, go-to-market, marketing & growth, toolkit utilities, and AI shipping.
The Nine Plugin Domains
The marketplace ships nine plugins covering the full PM lifecycle:
- pm-product-discovery — 13 skills, 5 commands: ideation, assumption mapping, OSTs, interview scripts, metrics dashboards
- pm-product-strategy — 12 skills, 5 commands: vision, business models, pricing, SWOT, PESTLE, Porter's Five Forces
- pm-execution — 16 skills, 11 commands: PRDs, OKRs, roadmaps, sprint planning, retros, pre-mortems, stakeholder maps
- pm-market-research — 7 skills, 3 commands: personas, segmentation, journey maps, market sizing, competitor analysis
- pm-data-analytics — 3 skills, 3 commands: SQL generation, cohort analysis, A/B test analysis
- pm-go-to-market — 6 skills, 3 commands: beachhead segments, ICPs, growth loops, GTM motions, battlecards
- pm-marketing-growth — 5 skills, 2 commands: positioning, value prop statements, North Star metrics
- pm-toolkit — 4 skills, 5 commands: resume review, NDA drafting, privacy policy, proofreading
- pm-ai-shipping — 2 skills, 5 commands: documenting AI-built apps, security audits, test coverage mapping
Installation and Platform Support
The marketplace installs natively into Claude Cowork (via the Browse Plugins UI) and Claude Code (via CLI). It also supports Codex CLI (OpenAI), with skills available but slash commands requiring manual workflow description. Skills in the universal SKILL.md format can be copied into Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Cursor, and Kiro. The recommended path for non-developers is Claude Cowork's one-click plugin install from phuryn/pm-skills.
Update: v2.0.0
The latest release, v2.0.0, published on June 5, 2026, added the /red-team-prd command for adversarially stress-testing PRDs and roadmaps, and introduced the AI Shipping Kit (pm-ai-shipping plugin) — a set of tools for documenting, auditing, and shipping AI-built code. The release also expanded the total skill count to 68 and commands to 42 across 9 plugins. The repository has accumulated over 12,800 GitHub stars and 1,500 forks since its creation in March 2026, according to the project's GitHub metadata.
