About Cortex by SKYNETLAB
Cortex by SKYNETLAB gives AI assistants a shared, persistent memory outside any single model. It preserves decisions, context, and sources across conversations, so connected assistants can retrieve the same knowledge.
What It Is
Cortex is a hosted semantic memory service accessed through MCP. Users save information through their assistant, search by meaning, and recall relevant knowledge with sources. It extends existing assistants rather than replacing them.
Quality-Gated Memory and Conflicts
Incoming memories are checked for novelty and redundancy before storage. The service distinguishes new information, corroboration, contradictions, and redundant proposals. Conflicting information remains visible rather than silently overwriting an earlier memory. Its documented architecture includes typed claims, entity relationships, coherence scoring, and background consolidation.
Connecting AI Assistants
The site lists a ChatGPT connector, while the public repository documents remote MCP setup for Claude and Claude Code. Other compatible clients can connect through a bridge or the supplied local stdio server. Tools cover saving, semantic search, fetching, synthesis, conflict inspection, write status, and confirmed deletion. The public repository contains documentation and connector code; the hosted memory engine is not open source.
Account Control and Availability
Memories are isolated by user and can be exported or deleted. The provider states that infrastructure operates in the European Union. As of October 11, 2026, the service is available for evaluation, but its pricing page says paid subscriptions are not yet active.
