About Sourclip
Sourclip is a Chrome extension built by indie maker Aditya that wraps Google NotebookLM with a full research workflow layer. It lets users discover curated sources, capture webpages, YouTube videos, PDFs, and AI chat conversations into NotebookLM notebooks in one click, organize everything into folders, and export finished research as Markdown, HTML, or PDF. The site reports over 400 users and 12,000+ captures.
What It Is
Sourclip is a browser extension and companion web platform that addresses the workflow gaps around Google NotebookLM. NotebookLM handles AI-powered thinking and synthesis; Sourclip handles everything else — finding good sources, getting them into the right notebook without copy-paste, keeping notebooks organized, turning Audio Overviews into a personal podcast feed, and exporting polished output. It is available as a Chrome extension with a free-forever tier and paid upgrade options.
Core Workflow: Four Pillars
The product is organized around four functional areas:
- Discover & Capture: A directory of 230+ vetted research databases, archives, and tools across AI, business, science, and law. One-click capture sends webpages, YouTube transcripts, PDFs, and full AI chat conversations (from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, and others) directly into the correct NotebookLM notebook. Bulk YouTube import supports entire playlists and channels.
- Organize: Adds notebook folders, artifact folders, a reusable prompt library, workspace dashboard, notebook merging, and cross-notebook search — features NotebookLM does not natively provide.
- Listen: Automatically publishes every NotebookLM Audio Overview as an episode in a personal RSS podcast feed, compatible with Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, and YouTube Music.
- Export: Exports notebooks, artifacts, and chat history as Markdown, HTML, or PDF, with optional custom branding on paid plans.
Platform and Integration Surface
Sourclip runs as a Chrome extension and injects workflow buttons directly into the NotebookLM interface. It also injects a "Save to NotebookLM" button inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, Kimi, Genspark, OpenEvidence, Merlin AI, Reddit, and YouTube. Capture processing runs locally in the browser — the developer states that research content is never seen or stored server-side. Cloud sync for folders, prompts, and branding is available on paid plans and works across any Chrome installation where the user is signed in.
Mind Map Editor
Sourclip includes a standalone mind map editor that addresses a specific NotebookLM limitation: the platform generates mind maps but does not allow editing them. Sourclip's editor lets users rename nodes, drag branches, collapse sections, import outlines from Markdown, JSON, or OPML, and export as image or PDF. Free users get 10 new mind maps per month in a session workspace; paid plans add cloud sync, permanent storage, and higher-resolution exports.
Audience and Use Cases
The tool is positioned for students managing large reading lists, academic researchers running literature reviews, content creators turning YouTube and articles into outlines and scripts, and founders building competitive research briefs. The homepage describes the target as "people who live inside NotebookLM" and frames the value as recovering roughly two hours of overhead per project.
Current Status
Sourclip is actively developed by a solo maker. The guides page references an August 2026 update to its cornerstone NotebookLM guide, and the homepage lists a Product Hunt launch badge alongside Startup Fame and Fazier features. The extension is live on the Chrome Web Store. A Lifetime plan is offered at a launch discount with a promo code, signaling the product is in an early commercial phase.
