What It Is

Terms is a browser-based contract drafting, commenting, and e-signature product. Contracts are markdown documents that you write and edit in the browser. Counterparties open a secure link, highlight text to comment inline, and sign with a typed e-signature. When the last signer signs, the document locks and a certificate of completion records the audit trail.

Drafting and asking questions with AI

You describe what you need, for example a design services agreement with a fee, timeline, and deposit split, and Terms turns those details into a draft you can refine before sharing. You can also attach a file. A chat interface lets you ask questions about existing agreements, such as when a contract renews, and shows the supporting clause so you can check the source.

Collaboration and signing

Parties can select a clause, discuss a change in a comment thread, update the text, and resolve the comment inside the contract. The product also lists an API with documentation and a changelog.
