About omux
omux is an open-source native macOS terminal app, built with SwiftUI and SwiftTerm, for running many Claude Code sessions in parallel. Sessions are grouped into projects in a sidebar, and each keeps its own Claude conversation across relaunches. The latest listed release is v0.2.0.
What It Is
omux is a terminal and session manager for Claude Code. A project is a folder plus a default command, and sessions live under it in the sidebar, where they can be reordered, renamed, colored or moved between projects. Plain shell sessions also work without Claude Code installed.
Managing parallel agents
Each session that runs claude is pinned to its own session id, so reopening omux continues the same conversation. The sidebar shows whether Claude is working, needs input or is done, and the Dock badge counts sessions waiting on you. When Claude asks for a tool permission, Allow and Deny buttons appear in the sidebar and session header. Running subagents are listed with what each one is doing, and clicking one opens its transcript.
Worktree sessions give a session its own Git branch and folder so parallel sessions do not touch each other's files. From the context menu you can create a pull request, merge into the base branch or open the folder.
Right panel
A right panel has three tabs: Files, Changes and Browser. Files browses the session folder and previews Markdown, code, images, PDFs, audio, video and other Quick Look types. Changes shows the session's diff, and you can leave line notes and send them to Claude in one message. Browser opens the local server a session prints and can send a picked element's HTML, styles and a screenshot to the prompt.
Setup and privacy
It requires macOS 14 or later and Swift 5.9 or later, and is built with a provided build script that installs the app into /Applications. The README states omux has no telemetry. Its one network request fetches plan usage limits from an undocumented Anthropic endpoint using Claude Code's login from the macOS Keychain. The project says it is independent and not affiliated with Anthropic.
