ChatGPT Atlas is OpenAI's Chromium-based macOS browser with ChatGPT natively integrated. It combines search, chat, and autonomous actions in one interface: ask questions from the new tab page (with dedicated tabs for links, images, videos, and news), use the sidebar to summarize or analyze any page without switching tabs, highlight text anywhere for instant rewrites, or enable agent mode to complete end-to-end tasks like research and shopping across websites. You stay in control with granular privacy settings—decide which sites ChatGPT can see via per-site visibility toggles, use Incognito mode where chats aren't saved, and manage optional browser memories (key facts recalled from your browsing) that you can view, archive, or delete anytime; by default, web content isn't used for training. Agent mode (preview for Plus, Pro, and Business users) operates under strict boundaries: it can't access your file system, saved passwords, other apps, or run code, and offers logged-out mode for enhanced security. Atlas supports seamless migration from Chrome/Safari/Firefox, passkey authentication, custom agent instructions, and workspace switching. Browser Memories

Turn on Browser memories and ChatGPT will remember key details from your web browsing to improve responses and offer smarter suggestions—like retrieving a webpage you read weeks ago.

Privacy controls:

• Memories are private to your account and fully under your control
• View all memories in settings and archive ones no longer relevant
• Clear browsing history to delete associated memories
• Per-site visibility toggle: Decide which sites ChatGPT can't see using the address bar toggle—when off, no page content is viewed and no memories are created
• Separate from ChatGPT memories and managed independently

Agent Mode (Preview)

Available for Plus, Pro, and Business users

Let ChatGPT complete end-to-end tasks on your behalf, always under your control. Agent mode can research meal plans, create ingredient lists, and add groceries to a shopping cart ready for delivery.

You're always in control:

• ChatGPT asks before taking important actions
• Pause, interrupt, or take over the browser anytime
• Custom instructions: Set rules, preferred sources, approval checkpoints, and guidance for agent behavior

Agent operates under strict boundaries:

• System access: Cannot run code, download files, or install extensions
• Data access: Cannot access other apps, file system, ChatGPT memories, saved passwords, or autofill data
• Browsing activity: Pages visited in agent mode aren't added to browsing history

Logged-out mode — Run agent without pre-existing cookies—it won't log into accounts without your specific approval, reducing security risks.

Privacy & Data Controls

You control what ChatGPT sees and remembers:

• Per-site page visibility: Block ChatGPT from reading content on financial, medical, or sensitive sites
• Clear history: Delete for a single page or full history with granular time ranges (15 min to all time)
• Incognito mode: Sign out of ChatGPT—chats and memories won't be saved to your account
• Training opt-out: By default, browsing content is NOT used to train models (opt-in available via "include web browsing" setting)
• Manage memories: View, archive, or delete Browser memories anytime
• Third-party cookies: Block globally or per-site with granular controls
• Data export: Export bookmarks, passwords, and settings anytime

Parental Controls

If parental controls are set for ChatGPT, they carry over to Atlas conversations. New Atlas-specific controls let parents:
